£1K for Cancer (1000 km to raise £1,000

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

A shared love of mountain biking - and cycling in general - has allowed me to forge a close friendship with a local 16 year old lad. Over the last 7 years we have shared kit, repaired bikes and traded coaching skills. I have learnt a lot from him.

I cannot pedal this young man through his recent bone cancer diagnosis, but I can fundraise for Teenage Cancer Trust - the charity his family describe as, 'the glue that hold us together' as they navigate through hospital appointments, treatment and specialist advice tailored to a young person's world.

To coincide with The Tour de France 2024, I will push my older body through a series of road and off-road cycle challenges with the aim of raising a minimum of £1,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust. Feel free to track my progress, but most importantly please sponsor me to stay on my bike.
